Fabio Mario Rizzotti is an independent graphic designer based in Milan. He is originally from Venice, where he studied Industrial Design and Multimedia at IUAV University, getting the maximum score for his thesis.
After completing internships at Studio Tomomot, Marsilio Editori, and Studio Tapiro, he moved to Basel to pursue a Master in Visual Communication and Iconic Research at The Basel School of Design, under the mentoring of Prof. Philipp Stamm, Jiri Oplatek, and Prof. Michael Renner.
Fabio Mario’s thesis work An Atlas about Letterforms, a project that explores the format of the Atlas through letterforms, was selected and featured at the 2019 Independent Book Fair in Leipzig.

Fabio Mario takes a research-based approach to his work and has a deep interest in typography, poster and book design, and printing techniques, and focuses many of his projects around these areas.

Alongside his studio work, Fabio Mario is the curator of Design Interview 1Q, a project born during the Covid-19 lockdown. He interviews designers and design experts from all around the world, including Paula Scher, Karel Martens, Michael Bierut, and Erik Spiekermann aiming with each interview to generate and share valuable content about the design community.
He is also the co-founder, together with Santiago Villa, of Pittogramma, a publication that has the goal to share and enhance projects designed by young Italian graphic designers. In October 2020 the first issue will be printed in Italy.
